Before you start

The file picker accepts: .avif, .bmp, .gif, .heic, .heif, .ico, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .svg, .tga, .tif, .tiff, .webp, image/*, .pdf, application/pdf. The contents and encoding of the file must also be supported; an extension alone does not guarantee compatibility.

The download uses the .txt extension. Keep the source until you have checked the result.

What to expect

Clear, upright text is easier to recognize than a blurred or skewed scan. Review the extracted text, especially names, numbers, and punctuation; recognition can make mistakes.

Limits to keep in mind

Handwriting is unsupported; multi-page PDFs take considerable CPU time and memory.

Is the file uploaded?＋

File contents are processed on your device. The browser downloads the tools it needs, but does not upload your file to LocalConvert for conversion.

What if processing does not finish?＋

Read the error shown by the tool. An unsupported format needs a different input; running out of memory may require a smaller file or a more capable device. Keep the tab open while the job runs.
