The file picker accepts: .mp3, audio/mpeg. The contents and encoding of the file must also be supported; an extension alone does not guarantee compatibility.

The download uses the .wav extension. Keep the source until you have checked the result.

What to expect

Choose the output for the player or editor you will use next. Converting a compressed recording cannot restore detail already lost in the source. Listen to a short section of the download before using the whole file.

WAV can be useful for editing, but usually needs more space than MP3. Converting MP3 to WAV does not recover sound that MP3 compression removed.
