The file picker accepts: .epub, application/epub+zip. The contents and encoding of the file must also be supported; an extension alone does not guarantee compatibility.

The download uses the .mobi extension. Keep the source until you have checked the result.

What to expect

Check the table of contents, chapter breaks, and characters in the reading app you plan to use. A format change does not remove copy protection or repair missing text.

Limits to keep in mind

Chapter text is carried across as a MOBI 6 book; images, tables and styling are not.

Amazon no longer accepts MOBI for new Send-to-Kindle deliveries; EPUB is the current route.
