Convert to DXF

Create DXF output from a supported file in your browser.

Working with several files? Add the files you need, then keep this tab open until processing finishes. Large batches use more device memory.

How it works

01

Choose your file

Pick a supported file from your device or drop it into the tool.

02

Set the result

Choose the output, quality, or size options that matter for this job.

03

Convert and download

Your browser processes the file locally and prepares a fresh download.

01

Before you start

The file picker accepts: .svg, image/svg+xml. The contents and encoding of the file must also be supported; an extension alone does not guarantee compatibility.

The download uses the .dxf extension. Keep the source until you have checked the result.

02

What to expect

This tool converts supported vector artwork into a CAD interchange file. Check scale and geometry in the receiving application. A photograph does not contain the vector geometry needed for an editable CAD drawing.

03

Limits to keep in mind

Browser conversion cannot reconstruct CAD semantics that are absent from the source.

SVG vector artwork is converted; curves are flattened into polylines and colour, text and layers are not carried over.

A photograph cannot be converted, because a raster image holds no geometry to recover.

Frequently asked questions

Is the file uploaded?+

File contents are processed on your device. The browser downloads the tools it needs, but does not upload your file to LocalConvert for conversion.

What if processing does not finish?+

Read the error shown by the tool. An unsupported format needs a different input; running out of memory may require a smaller file or a more capable device. Keep the tab open while the job runs.
